PASSION PROJECT
THE 1/18-SCALE VAN BUILD CONCEPT
The Van Lab is the next chapter — a dedicated 3D printing farm built under a custom workbench to prototype and produce parts for a 1/18-scale van build. The concept is fully designed, the research is done, and the build kicks off once the Shed Studio is complete. This is an idea in waiting: carefully planned, patiently staged.
EPISODE 01
The Van Lab build series begins. Follow along as the concept for a 3D printing farm under a custom workbench starts becoming reality.
EPISODE 02
Planning and prep — sourcing materials, finalizing the workbench design, and mapping out the printer layout in the physical space.
EPISODE 03
The workbench build kicks off — framing, shelving, and creating the structure that will house the entire 3D printing farm.
EPISODE 04
Printers arrive — unboxing, testing, and beginning to stage the farm beneath the workbench for the first time.
EPISODE 05
Halfway through — a look at the growing farm, cable management challenges, and the first successful print run from the lab.
EPISODE 06
Power and connectivity — running the electrical setup, adding network infrastructure, and getting all 32 printers online.
EPISODE 07
The first van parts roll off the farm — printing and testing the initial 1/18-scale van body components.
EPISODE 08
Assembly and refinements — putting printed parts together, adjusting tolerances, and fine-tuning the production workflow.
EPISODE 09
The series finale — the Van Lab is fully operational. A complete tour of the finished lab and a first look at the 1/18-scale van prototype.
